Here's Some Good News For a Change

Just when I get to thinking the world is a pretty rotten place in lots of ways, I get a reminder that it's not all like that.

I'm surfing around and an article catches my eye for whatever reason.

Leaving their wedding reception to begin their honeymoon, Ashley and Dave Marasco didn't realize that the envelope containing the money given them as wedding gifts had accidentally been left on the car's roof.

Gone.  $3,000.

"That's awful," I thought.

So I said to myself, "Surf on, Skeezix, before you get really cynical."

But wait!

The next link reveals a happy ending.

Brennen Breene describes what happpened.

"I was driving along the road deep in thought. I looked down and saw what I thought was a money envelope and money hanging out of it," said Breene. "I found [the story] on WPXI and it was right there. As soon as I saw it, I knew whose money it was.”

Breene then took the money to the police who returned it to the Marascos.

An honest person . . . happy newlyweds.  A fantastic story.

Big Oil could learn a lesson about honesty from Brennen Breene.
